About our Annapolis Sessions
One Week and Two Week Day Sessions
For over 35 years, Annapolis, Maryland has been the primary home for the Brendan Sailing Program. Throughout this time, hundreds of campers have participated in our Annapolis Sessions, which have contributed to a foundation of building confidence and social skills through sailing.
Our Annapolis beach based program is led by US Sailing certified Instructors who work with individual students to discover their individual learning style. The Brendan Sailing Curriculum covers an introduction to the sport of sailing including the parts of the boat, maneuvers, navigation, and the Rules of the Road that follows the National On-Water Standards. Our Instructors use a hands on approach to teach sailing and seamanship, with emphasis on building confidence and developing basic sailing skills. On the final day of both sessions, parents are invited to take a sail with their camper to show off the skills they have acquired.
The overall sailing curriculum is same for both Sessions, and Session 1 is NOT required for participation in Session 2. Although it is not required we encourage students to take both sessions if they wish. If this is the case, they will be given more challenging work during the Session 2 to help build on the skills learned from Session 1. Campers are also given time for games and leisure and No prior sailing experience is required.
